Who We Are
Hi. I’m Caleb. I come from a town close to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am an 18 year old freelance videoographer and photographer, or at least I like to say I am. I came to India in June not knowing what I was getting myself into. After spending only 8 days there, we took off for the Middle East for two months. There is a desire to be close to India and a desire to feel India. I strive to live without fear and without worry about tomorrow. My faith is in God, and all my doubts and anxieties I present to God in prayer. God helped me to see what the world really is. The reality of the lives of the poor was exposed to me and it changed my perspective on the way I was formerly living. As we travel through the country of India, we find more and more ways to serve the poor and above all, glorify God.
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” –Romans 15:5-6
Hi. I’m James. I am a recent graduate from the University of Georgia. After becoming a Christian, I developed an interest in the poor through the example of my closest friend, Andrew Lombardi. Andrew convinced me to take a life changing trip to Haiti with my friends Kathy, Lauren, and Bihn. Haiti inspired us to start a group called LIGHT (Living to Inspire Global Healing Today) along with other passionate individuals to serve around the world. I longed and desired a closeness to the poor and to grow as a man of God. God then provided an incredible opportunity to go to India and learn from Rocky Braat who had lived in India for many years serving HIV/AIDS orphans. After being there only a month, God filled my heart with an inexpressible joy and love for Rocky and the children. I also experienced the suffering and hardships that the Indian villagers faced everyday. Living in a small village was one of the most exciting times of my young adult life. I then left for the middle east for 2 months, growing as a man of God and healing from my past. I am so excited to get an opportunity to return to India in a powerful way. I intend to use my business degree and knowledge to find solutions to the many problems the poor face everyday. My heart has been swept away to the children from the special little orphanage an hour or so outside of Chennai, on the east coast of India. I plan on developing systems and structures throughout my travels to help them and others we meet, but nothing will be possible without God. All the praise and glory go to him for even showing such a sinner as I grace. I am so thankful to live this new life and glorify God any way that I can. The power of Christ and his love compels me.
“God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:16-19
